Our story

Seventy years of turns

We started in 1952, back when skiing meant a jeep ride up Mauna Kea and a portable rope tow. The snow on the volcano comes and goes, but the itch to ski never did — so the club grew outward, organizing trips to the great resorts of the mainland, Canada, Japan, Europe, and even New Zealand for summer turns.

Today we’re over a hundred strong: families and college kids, first-timers and lifers, snowboarders and tele skiers. The club is entirely volunteer-run, which keeps costs low and the spirit high. Everyone pitches in; everyone’s welcome.
